What is a home repair plan?
A home repair plan is a service contract that protects home systems and appliances from costly repairs due to normal wear and tear. When a covered system breaks down, HomeServe dispatches a licensed local contractor and pays them directly for covered repairs.
What types of repairs do plans cover?
Plans address a variety of home systems including plumbing, HVAC (heating and cooling), electrical, and kitchen appliances. Coverage applies to breakdowns from normal wear and tear that are typically not covered by standard homeowners insurance.
How much do HomeServe plans cost?
Plans start as low as $3.99/month and range up to ~$73/month for comprehensive combo plans. Individual system plans typically run $5–$19/month, with pricing varying by ZIP code and plan type.
Is HomeServe available in my area?
HomeServe plans are available in all 50 U.S. states, though specific plan availability varies by location. Enter your ZIP code on the HomeServe website to see which plans are available in your area.
Can I have more than one HomeServe plan?
Yes. HomeServe offers individual plans for specific systems (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, etc.) as well as combo plans. Homeowners can hold multiple individual plans or choose a combo plan for broader coverage under one monthly payment.
Is there a service call fee or deductible?
Most HomeServe plans have a $0 service call fee. HomeServe pays the contractor directly so you are not billed for covered repairs up to the benefit amount. Some plans may have a service fee of $0–$100 depending on specific plan terms.
Is there a waiting period before I can make a claim?
Yes. Most plans include a 30-day initial waiting period from the start date before you can file a claim. Plans that include replacement services may require up to 90 days, giving you 11 months of full coverage during your first year.

Coverage
What is the difference between a home warranty and homeowners insurance?
Homeowners insurance covers damage from sudden events like fire, theft, or storms. A home warranty covers repair or replacement of home systems and appliances that break down from normal wear and tear — situations that homeowners insurance typically does not cover.
Does HomeServe offer home warranty plans?
Yes. In addition to individual system repair plans, HomeServe offers home warranty combo plans — including the Interior Protection Plan and Premium Home Protection Plan — covering multiple systems and/or appliances under a single monthly payment.
What is not covered by HomeServe plans?
Plans do not cover pre-existing conditions, accidental or negligent damage, natural disasters, mold remediation, code compliance upgrades, or shared lines managed by HOAs. See your individual plan terms for a complete exclusion list.
Does coverage apply to the interior or exterior of my home?
HomeServe offers both interior line plans (covering pipes and wiring inside your home) and exterior service line plans (covering underground lines from the street to your home). Plan availability depends on your location.
Are appliances covered under HomeServe plans?
Appliance coverage depends on the specific plan. HomeServe's combo and home warranty plans may cover kitchen appliances such as refrigerators, dishwashers, and ranges. Check your plan details or compare plans on HomeServe.com.
Is there a benefit cap on repairs?
Yes. Each plan has a benefit amount — the maximum HomeServe will pay per covered repair or per year. The benefit limit varies by plan; your plan documents will specify the exact amount for your coverage.
Where can I compare HomeServe home warranty plans?
Visit the HomeServe website and navigate to the Home Warranty section to compare available plans and pricing for your ZIP code. You can also call 1-855-336-2465 and a representative will help you choose the right plan.
